LOCAL POLITICIAN SUPPORTS SINGLE POLICE FORCE
Dumbarton's MSP insists that Scotland's eight police forces should unite to form one force.
Jackie Baillie thinks that resources could be better used if the plan to forge one super force came into play.
Currently, there are eight police forces in Scotland with around 17,000 serving officers, with the Government estimating that 25 per cent of the policing budget is spent on headquarters.
But Ms Baillie insists the accountabilty of local heads of police forces should still be maintained.
