MP CALLS FOR MORE TO BE SPENT ON ARGYLL AND BUTE'S ROADS
A politician from Argyll and Bute has hit out at the Scottish Government for giving Argyll & Bute's roads a disproportionate sum to be spent on road improvements.
Argyll and Bute's MP Alan Reid claims that only £3m has been allocated to roads in the area - with £2m of that sum set aside for upgrade works on the Loch Lomondside stretch of the A82.
Mr Reid believes this figure is much less than is being given to other local authority areas across Scotland.
He is calling on the Scottish Government to reassess their distribution of funding for the area.
