Print | Email

Strathclyde Partnership for Transport is to fund construction of a new Park and Ride for Port Glasgow.

Members of SPT's Strategy & Programmes Committee gave the go-ahead on Friday for the new facility to be built at Highholm Avenue.

The £1.42million grant funding will also include improvements to Port Glasgow Bus Station.

SPT has awarded grant funding of £770,000 to Inverclyde Council for the Park and Ride in Highholm Avenue, near Port Glasgow railway station. When complete, it will accommodate 150 vehicles.

The committee also agreed to grant fund the council £650,000 for an upgrade of Port Glasgow Bus Station.
