VALE MONITORING GROUP MEET

A special meeting of the Vale of Leven Hospital's Monitoring Group yesterday focused on mental health services.

The additional meeting was called to discuss the implications of the recent fire in the Hospital's Christie Ward.

The Group's Chairman Bill Brackenridge had written to Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon seeking a fresh look at all possible options for the Ward.

Members at yesterday's meeting, in Dumbarton Burgh Hall, heard that the Minister had replied, indicating she intended to extend the review period for a further 8-10 months.
