WDC DEFEND HOUSING AXE KILLER

Council bosses in West Dunbartonshire are trying to allay residents fears, after one of Scotland's most notorious killers was discovered to be living in a housing estate in Dumbarton.

Axe murderer Thomas McCulloch has been accommodated in a terraced council house on Strathclyde Road in the Townend area, as prison chiefs prepare him for release.

A previous attempt to re-settle him in Risk Street in Dumbarton was aborted after an uproar from residents there, and those in Strathclyde Road are now equally worried.
