A Dumbarton councillor is calling on the local authority to review its scaffodling contracts in a bid to save cash.
Geoff Calvert is concerned over the costly effect of the current contract, which includes the use of scaffolding for work such as gutter cleaning.
He says that for scaffolding work that is then recharged to individual residents, the cost can be considered extortionate.
He cited one recent example where for one side of a 4-in-a-block property, the cost of the work carried out was just over £100, but when the cost of scaffolding was added, the total cost came to almost £1,600.
