MAJOR CLEAN UP AT GARELOCHHEAD BEACH
More than 400 people are expected to descend on Garelochhead tomorrow in what promises to be one of the biggest beach-cleaning efforts in the country.
Hundreds of students from Glasgow College of Nautical Studies will clean the beach as part of their induction week.
The college has adopted Garelochhead as part of the Marine Conservation Society’s Adopt a Beach initiative.
Last year, over 400 college staff and students - helped by local residents - picked up nearly three tonnes of rubbish from the beach in just a few hours.
